SIP
Professional Code of Ethics
The Society
of Internet Professionals (SIP) is a professional organization,
which was founded in 1997 with a mandate to enhance professionalism
and accountability of professionals in the Internet Industry.
Ethical
standards are hallmark for any profession and SIP is proud
to offer our members to take ownership of their professions.
Accredited
Member of SIP is recognition of a member's commitment to respect
their clients and peers, take responsibility of their job
and commit to continue upgrading their skills and knowledge.
This recognition helps members to build trust in their dealings
with the Industry and clients.
Professional
Code of Ethics enhances the recognition for professional status;
members are awarded an official pin, and a digital-seal to
display on their website and marketing materials.
Members of SIP are required to affirm their intent to uphold
these Professional and ethical standards by signing this membership
agreement.
As members
of the Society of Internet Professionals (SIP) we recognize
that we have moral and ethical obligations to the public,
our clients, our fellow members and the Internet community
in general.

Therefore,
we pledge that we will:
General
- Support
SIP's exemplary standards and principles of professional
conduct as presented here in this Code of Ethics.
- Be
ethical and honest in all of our business and professional
relationships.
- Treat
our peers and website users with courtesy and act in good
faith when dealing with them.
Customer,
Clients and Employers
- Guard
the confidential and private information of our clients,
customers or employers and not use their information for
our own personal interests without obtaining their consent.
We further pledge to provide a secure Internet environment
for our clients, customers or employers.
- Honour
the trust of our clients, customers or employers by protecting
their legitimate interests, and giving them our best advice
and recommendations based on our knowledge and experience.
- Honour
and properly exercise any authority or privileges given
to us by our clients, customers or employers.
- Avoid
conflicts of interest and advise clients, customers or employers,
and potential clients, customers or employers, of any such
conflicts that might arise.
- Not
misrepresent or withhold facts about our business policies,
warranties, or the quality of our products or services.
We further pledge to communicate with our clients, customers
or employers in a clear, accurate and comprehensive fashion.
- Take
no personal advantage of the inexperience or lack of knowledge
of our clients, customers or employers, or our clients,
customers or employers.
- Avoid
malicious hacking and exploiting vulnerabilities of system
and the internet.
Compliance
and Regulations
- Operate
within the laws of the countries and global regulations
in which we do business.
- Not
participate in, link to, or promote "un-ethical"
work, exploitation of women, children, racial and ethnic
division, violence and hate groups.
- Neither
send nor promote the sending of spam or unsolicited bulk
e-mail.
- Assist
in establishing and maintaining the integrity of the Internet
industry.
I accept
the code of Ethics and will abide by high professional standards,
failing that SIP reserve the right to revoke my membership.
MEMEBRSHIP AGREEMENT & CODE OF ETHICS
I agree to the following as part of my application to join Society of Internet Professionals (SIP) Application for membership or any of SIP program/initiative is considered as joining SIP.
1. I subscribe to the mandate of SIP and its Code of Ethics (given above)
2. I hereby irrevocably waive any claim or right of action of law or in equity that I might have any time hereafter against SIP Board of directors, SIP executive committee (or any other committee) members, or other officials, either as a group or as individuals for official act, including acts such as:
Admitting or failing to admit me for Membership including AIP or any other program.
Disciplining me as a member for any reason whatever.
3. It is agreed that any certificate, emblem, logo, or other evidence of my membership which may be issued to me shall remain the property of the Society of Internet Professionals (SIP) and held by me in trust and will be returned to the Association upon demand if and when my standing as a member is terminated by myself or Association.
4. It is agreed that the membership fee is non-refundable in full or by prorating
