Why You Should Have a Website
with Your Name as its Domain?
Marketing
and promotion starts with you, more specifically with your
name. If you want to get your name out there, then start promoting
yourself. Check it out – Google yourself (search your
own name) to see if your name is listed on the first
page in the search engine results.
You
may have joined some social networks but normally such networks
may be ignored by the very people you want to notice you and
your business; they are also ignored by search engines. You
may have a free web page provided by some hosting companies,
but it is not the same, particularly when you do not have
an email address under your own domain name. Having your own
URL represents permanence, professionalism and a brand. The
added benefit is that it is independent of your ISP, which
you may change at some point.
We want SIP members to rank on the top page- just like SIP's
top ranking with many search engines.
As a result, SIP has developed a program for its members that
will create a "profile website" for only $200 (cost
much more to get a website produced) yearly.
The program includes:
-
Registration of a domain name (same name as your name).
- Creation of a website (with your photo, SIP membership plaque
and links). It will be restricted to two pages (you can add
more yourself).
- Creation of one personal email address with your name as
domain name (e.g. contact@yourname.com, but you can add more
yourself).
